Im all about volunteering all year round but most people get more time off during the holidays and are looking for different options for them to give back to their community. For this #LoKnows I will give you more information about some of the volunteer activities that you can do around the Denver area.
Not only can you go and donate anytime at any of their locations, you can also host a drive for your next holiday party. If your office, school, family, really any kind of event, wants to go a step further, then look into hosting a drive to donate to the cause. Its as easy as buying and extra can or two of something when you go to the grocery store next time. Two words: Office Competition
If you have a soft spot for animals then this one is for you. This incredible animal shelter brings in animals that are found on the streets that seem to have no owners. Instead of bringing them to animal control, people bring them here to be adopted and give them a home. There are so many different opportunities to help this organization so check out the volunteering page to learn more.
Denver Rescue Mission puts on this turkey drive every year and delivers almost 3,000 FULL Thanksgiving meals to families. You can either put together your own full meals, donate pieces of the meals or of course, you can donate money. If you are interested in this one, please check out the website because they are having the drive on November 22 with a ton of locations to drop off. So go get a Turkey!
Take your whole office or family and go feed america. You and your crew can go work on an assembly line to put together meals. This organization provides meals to over 45 million people and this cant be possible with the over 2 million volunteers that help. Be part of that 2 million this holiday season or anytime of the year.
Have you ever noticed that right before any holiday there are a ton of 5ks, 10ks and other types of races? Well how about you volunteer at those! Work at the check-in, water station or snack stations to help the event run (get it, wink, wink) smoothly. My favorite is the Ugly Sweater Run. If you see me, dont make fun of how slow im going.
