Proper event staff makes the world go round!

 

The worst thing you can do is cut corners when it comes to your staff for an event.

 

Lines at the bar, trash on the tables, buffet taking forever! What is the deal?! This is the worst event I have ever been to!    

 

Have you been to an event like this before? Count the number of staff you see in the room. Chances are there are not enough!  Couples are always asking us…do I need so many staff at my event?  he answer 9 out of 10 times is YES!  Let me just list off all the amazing things your staff does come event day:

  • Pre prep and cooking
  • Loading the trucks
  • Getting your materials to the venue
  • Unloading and set up!  This being understaffed will lead to a delayed event for sure!
  • Cleaning up throughout the event –  of course you want your event to look nice throughout
  • Serving your food – appetizers, entrees, desserts
  • Bartending!  No one likes a line to get a drink!
  • Cleaning up and breakdown (Stacking tables and chairs!)

 

An event of 150-175 needs anywhere from 8-15 staff.  Of course this all depends on what you are serving!  Here are some suggestions:

 

Cocktail Party – 1 Server per 15 guests, and 1 stationary bartender for every 50 – 75 guests (not including chefs and managers)

Sit down Dinner – 1 Server per 10-12 guests, 1 bartender for table wine service, and 1 stationary bartender for every 50 – 75 guests (not including chefs and managers)

Buffet – 1 server per 15 guests, and 1 stationary bartender for every 50 – 75 guests (not including chefs and managers)

Family Style –  1 Server per 10-12 guests, 1 bartender for table wine service, and 1 stationary bartender for every 50 – 75 guests (not including chefs and managers)
