Event season is finally here and we are ready for it! In the events industry we have two seasons, slow season and busy season. Usually, we have a little build up to the busy season but this year with all the rebooking’s and then the regular bookings we are already into the busy season! Which you will not hear us complaining about because it is a huge change from last year.

Getting ready for the busy season is another challenge of its own. You need to make sure you have all the necessities and if you are anything like me, you will have more than you need! You never know what weather you can expect here in Colorado. One day it can be in the 80’s and next you can have rain all day. Here are a few of the necessities I always make sure to have:

  • New Event Shoes, check! (Make sure they are super comfy for those 14-hour shifts!)
  • Rain boots and jacket, check!
  • Cute hat, check!
  • “In-Case Of” Bag, check!
  • Cooler, check!
  • Lots of snacks, check!
  • Insulated water bottle, check!
  • Snow boots, check!

I also always have a stash of stuff in the back of my car. In my “In-Case Of” bag I have a variety of things which includes sunglasses, socks, gum, mints, mini sewing kit, lint roller, forks, make-up wipes, etc. In my 4-1/2 years in the events industry I have used almost everything in that bag at least once and each year I keep adding to it.

If you see me walking into an event, I’ll likely have 2-3 bags hanging around my shoulders. I always have my Laptop Bag, “In-Case Of” Bag, and my cooler (full of food and good drinks!)
