Gearing up has changed a bit for me over my career. I am sure my staff will have fun posts about staying warm, and comfortable. My blog is a bit more…geriatric. About preventing injury, and illness!
So, lets GEAR UP…old lady (over 35) event manager style!
Morning of the event
When I get up, I start my day with a protein shake that also includes a pack of Emergency C. No body wants to catch a cold from an event. Next, I take about 20 minutes to stretch. Yes, stretch. Especially my hips and back. Staying flexible and preventing injury is the name of the game.
Before I leave the house
I will leave the fun kit conversations to my team (but in my kit I include icy hot patches.) I like to eat a good lunch, a big sandwich usually hits the spot. I watch the sugar, cause sugar tends to make me tired and I need to be spunky and ready for anything. With my lunch I have a huge bottle of water and an ibuprofen. This keeps the aches at bay until later in the evening.
Then it is time to toss on those comfy shoes (Clarks) and get to work!
