You got the ring! Now you need to venue! Here are some questions to ask while searching for that perfect spot to say I do!
LOOK AND FEEL
What is your first impression? (Upon arrival at the venue)
Condition and appearance of the event space ( does it look clean?)
Are there any event space obstructions, windows, views?
How is the demeanor of the venue representative?
Does the venue feel safe? Does the venue have proper lighting at night?
What is the capacity and location of the separate event sites: ceremony, cocktail area, reception?
Do they require event insurance?
Can the bride and groom get ready on site?
How many hours are included?
What is their overtime policy?
What is included in the cost of rental?
Does venue include any set up or break down?
Rehearsal included? If not…how much?
Is there any noise ordinance requirements? Example…quiet at 10pm?
Will the space work for out of town guests? Close to hotels?
Are there any other events scheduled in the venue on same date?
How far is the parking lot from the entrance? If far, do they have a golf cart for elderly guests?
Is there a coat check (winter events)?
FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Does the venue have on-site catering capabilities?
Do they have a preferred Caterer list? If you want to bring in someone off the list what is the policy?
What are the options for bar/alcohol? In house? Preferred provider? Bring in your own?
If in house…Can you order their drinks on consumption? What is the per drink price? Packages?
