Emotions First, Logic Later

Playlist:

This is the soundtrack you heard during the session—curated to match the tone, energy, and message of People Are Gonna People.

These songs are reflective without being sleepy, emotionally charged without being heavy. You might recognize a few from movies or shows, but not quite place them—and that’s the point. This playlist is about clarity, depth, and feeling something real.

Let it play while you audit your buyer behavior, revisit your notes, or just need to reconnect with the part of you that knows your buyers are human first.

 Featured Artist: Sam Gilliam (1933–2022)

Sam Gilliam was a pioneering American abstract artist known for pushing the boundaries of painting—literally. Best known for his drape paintings, he broke away from the traditional canvas, suspending painted fabric like sculptural installations that flowed with movement and light.

A key figure in the Washington Color School, Gilliam fused bold color fields with emotional intensity, creating work that felt both powerful and poetic. As a Black artist in a predominantly white art world, his refusal to be categorized—by style, by medium, or by identity—became part of his artistic legacy.

His work reminds us that structure is meant to be challenged, and beauty can be both deliberate and free.
